Painting exhibition "Ukraine in the Universe"

Today, an exhibition of Borys Kononenko, known under the pseudonym Huko, opened in our gallery. The pseudonym of the artist means: Hutsul, Ukrainian, Kononenko. Mr. Kononenko`s creative works include hundreds of paintings, poems, thousands of watercolors, graphic works and photographs. It is interesting that the artist read hundreds of books by foreign authors, was interested in world art. And he also created his own "cloud art", where the fantasies of nature have an undeniable advantage over the fantasies of man.

"Within the cloud art, I unified the directions, often very different from each other," says Mr. Borys. - I often draw on a board or plywood, guiding the brush along the lines of the tree, and they suggest the plot of the picture. This is a way of creativity that can be called “metaphorical wood” or "fantastic plywood”.

And there is also metaphorical metal, fantastic stone and others. When it is impossible to bring the material to the workshop, I photograph it and draw it on the picture. I call this synthesis of photo art and painting a fantastic photo. If some elements in the landscape are transformed into faces, then such a view can be defined as a "psychoscape".

We look at pictures and try to understand their plots. Not everyone can guess the meaning. And the pictures show water, earth, sky and various unearthly fantastic creatures. The author's works are aimed for encouraging the viewer to expand his worldview and use his imagination.

The official opening of the exhibition will take place on Saturday, August 3 at 3 p.m.

We invite you to view the exhibition!
