Watercolor Exhibition “Dawn” by Marija Bezkorovaina
This Saturday, our gallery opened an exhibition of creative works by artist Marija Bezkorovaina from the Donetsk region.
The artist titled the exhibition “Dawn”. Dawn symbolizes the beginning of something new: new story, new impressions, new day. That is in times of peace. But what does dawn mean during war? It is a gift of God.
This exhibition is about the things that help us to survive the trials of war. There is deep fatigue, but family and creativity help us like a life ring. Everyone finds his own sources of strength that help to live and move forward. For Ms. Marija, these are the simple, everyday things: children’s smiles, the purring of a cat, rays of sunlight, flowers on the table, clouds and mountains. She listens to her emotions and depicts her thoughts and impressions on the paper. She hopes her watercolors will help viewers to remember those little drops of joy that life offers.
Many of the watercolors depict fluffy animals on soft paws because Ms. Marija wishes to support the “Druh” (Friend) charity foundation in Kramatorsk. This organization is a group of volunteers who help animals to the best of their abilities. The foundation cannot shelter all homeless animals; there is only limited temporary care. It receives no government funding, and all animals under its protection are cared for donations from kind people. A part of the costs from the sale of artworks will be donated to the “Druh” foundation.
We warmly invite you to visit the exhibition!
