Girls’ Bike Parade

On August 30, Ivano-Frankivsk hosted its traditional Girls’ Bike Parade. For the 14th year, participants rode through the city centre, from Bastion Square to Shevchenko Park.

This year, 170 female cyclists took part in the parade, wearing colourful and comfortable pyjama outfits. One of the main goals of the 14th Bike Parade was to raise funds to purchase an acoustic system for detecting Russian drones for the military unit of Andrii Kotliarchuk, a soldier and well-known cycling activist.

The organisers encouraged the girls not to be afraid to experiment with their looks and to choose comfortable and bright pyjamas for the parade. Photo zones and a prize draw with gifts from the event’s partners added to the festive atmosphere.

The event was organised by the NGO Mamy Prykarpattia and the Vershyn Women’s Club, with the support of the Department of Youth Policy and Sports, the Maltese Aid Service in Ivano-Frankivsk, and the Ivano-Frankivsk District Police Department.
